495/MetroWest Community Profiles 2017
Municipal Commuting Profile
The 495/MetroWest "On The Go" community reports are complimentary to the regional commuting report. For each community the report shows the top ten locations where their residents work, and also the top ten locations where workers in that community reside. This report shows that many people who live in our region also work here, and also that our region is a net importer of labor. The data shows many people who live in our region work in the 495/MetroWest region and in the Boston area, and that many workers from, both the east and west of 495/MetroWest, come to work in the 495/MetroWest Region. These reports are intended to create awareness of commuting patterns for key decision makers and stakeholders such as municipal planners, state officials, transit authorities, and other interested parties in order to advance a more efficient transportation system in the 495/MetroWest region.
Municipal Economic Profile
The municipal Strength In Numbers Report is individualized for each community, and shows similar economic indicators as the regional Strength In Numbers report. The municipal report shows long term trends, as well as the latest figure for each statistic. All of our communities can boast a highly educated workforce seen in the percentage of residents with a bachelors degree or higher. Also, home values often are near or exceeding the average for the rest of the state. Most of the data was gathered from the Massachusetts Office of Labor and Workforce Development, and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue Databank. The data and analysis for the top ten industries portion of the report comes from the Public Policy Center at UMass Dartmouth.
Any questions regarding these reports can be directed to Deputy Director Jessica Strunkin.
